The Big Five palaces: 경복궁 (Gyeongbokgung), 창덕궁, 덕수궁, 창경궁, 경희궁. Gyeongbokgung's guard-changing ceremony at 10 a.m. is the free show.
Wear a hanbok (rental shops everywhere nearby) and palace entry is free. It's also the best photo deal in Seoul.
Closed Mondays mostly. Check 궁 closes early in winter — last entry an hour before sunset.
