설날 & 추석

Two mega-holidays, one universal sentence: 새해 복 많이 받으세요.

解説は英語です。韓国語の行と意味は選んだ言語です。

설날 (Lunar New Year) and 추석 (Chuseok, harvest moon) shut the country down. Everyone travels home (귀성길); trains book out months ahead.

Rituals: 차례 (ancestral rites), 세배 (deep New Year bows to elders) — and children receive 세뱃돈 (lucky money) in patterned envelopes.

Holiday food: 떡국 on 설날 (eat it, gain a year of age), 송편 on 추석. City empties, highways jam, and every café closes except the brave.
