About

Korean you actually use

LOWKEY Korean is a free, text-first way to learn the Korean that people actually speak — the Korean on menus, subway gates, group chats, and the 편의점 counter, not classroom dialogues about pencils. No video lectures, no sign-up wall: open a lesson and start reading.

What's inside

  • 140 written lessons across 6 tracks — Hangul, survival, daily life, culture, K-wave, and travel Korean
  • A 4,000+ entry dictionary layer: slang, proverbs, hanja idioms, konglish, onomatopoeia, and pronunciation rules — each with examples and audio
  • 12 games, drills, and a placement test; a daily digest so there is always something new
  • An optional AI studio for roleplaying Seoul situations (free tier included)

Every entry is curated by hand — meanings, example sentences, and usage notes are written for this site, with machine translations checked against native usage.

Who builds it

An independent developer in Korea, building and maintaining the site solo. LOWKEY Korean launched in 2026 and is updated weekly — new slang, new lessons, fixes from learner feedback. The site is free to use; optional paid AI-studio passes keep it that way.
